Changing Your Mans Underwear And Getting Away With It

By Huw Hopkin

Most men hate buying their own underwear. Single men tend to whiz into big departmental stores, grabbing the 3-pack underwear that are dyed in the dullest colors, hoping that the lady at the checkout counter is not young and pretty. When they have got a girlfriend or wife, the task is almost immediately delegated quickly to her. After all, she is the only one who sees.

But what happens underneath those clothes is very important to the women, which is why www.VeryYummy.com have put together some tips for women on how to choose the best underwear. The tips involve three simple steps which involves, firstly, working out what kind of guy you have, choosing the type of underwear and lastly, getting sufficient quantities the new style into the man’s drawer before explaining yourself.

First Step – What kind of man you are dealing with.
The first step involves working out what kind of man you have. Try using the following guide:

Ubermale – This guy is so concerned with his looks that he will take care of his own underwear and you can be sure that you can trust that it will look good on him. It is best to make sure that he does not end up out-dressing you in the underwear department. The best thing for this guy is to hand him a mens g-string so he can admire his own buttocks in a mirror.

Metrosexual man – He owns at least some form of facial cream and does enjoy shopping. It would be normal to see this guy wearing something from Zara or American Apparel. Trunks are the thing for this kind of man. He will be well aware that Calvin Klein have great looking trunks.

Family man – Spends most of his time with babies climbing all over him. Therefore something comfortable and easy are important like briefs. By the time he crawls into bed after putting the baby to sleep you won’t notice what he has on anyway.

Lad – This guy is busy down the local bar watching football, humming to songs as he showers in the football changing room. Best advice is too get him something that will not embarrass his mates at the club. Good old fashioned boxers are perfect for him and you can even choose to vary the material by buying something silkier.

Second step – Ordering
A man will normally wear one pair of underwear for as long as possible without changing. It is pretty disgusting, therefore women should make sure he changes it and has at least 14 days worth of underwear supply. This way you can make sure he will get around to his washing every two weeks. However, if you want to make sure he washes his underwear more often, the solution is obvious, buy less underwear. A friend once bought a single three pack only.

Step three - Making the switch
Now, tips on how to get rid of the old designs. The fastest way to is to use the direct approach. Dump the underwear in the trash on a garbage day. You really don’t want him rummaging in the trash can looking for them while cursing at you. Make sure his new underwear is placed exactly where the old ones would have been. If the colors match, the change in underwear type might even go unnoticed for a few days if you’re lucky.

Step four – Explaining yourself
When your man asks where his favorite underwear disappeared to, you can choose your how you want to explain the truth. It is easy to say the washing machine chewed it up or go straight for the cliché, “I prefer you without them” and them head for the hot rumble that follows, helping him get over the fact his favorite y-fronts have gone.

Producing Canvas Art Prints

By Juan José

A very recent technology allows for artists’ original paintings to be replicated on canvas. Prior to this an artist who painted an original work on canvas would have to have a reproduction made on paper. Unlike a paper reproduction, one printed on canvas can be displayed without glass and matting, and also looks like an original.

There are two main ways that person can produce canvas prints. They are by canvas transferring and printing directly on the canvas. Both can produce high-quality results, and can be made to look as close to the original as possible.

When it comes to reproducing an artist’s original canvas art prints, it is obvious that the reproduction should look as much like the original as possible. By using several techniques, it makes it easy to produce canvas art prints that look just as good as the original.

Transferring to make canvas art prints is the most common of the two techniques. It begins with a standard, offset paper print that is made in the traditional way from the original. The print is then coated with a series of special chemicals that are designed to allow the paper and the ink to separate from each other. That means when the paper is removed, the ink remains.

The canvass is then prepped with adhesive, and the film is carefully laid on it. Pressure is applied to bond the film to the canvas, which is then set aside to dry. The result is a beautiful canvas art print that looks very much like the original.

Printing directly on the canvas to produce canvas art prints is the second most commonly used method.

Other methods used consist of direct offset printing, where a piece of canvas is run through an offset press; Repligraphy, where a hot-melt color dye printing system is used to create an oil-based film that adheres to the canvas; and Artagraphs, which features a mold of both the artist’s original brushstrokes and textures.

How can you tell if a piece of art is the original or a canvas art print reproduction? Although it may seem hard, there are clues that someone can use to tell what is real and what is a copy.

The first is to look for limited edition print numbers, which are normally found at the bottom of the work in xx/yy format. When producing canvas art prints, a reproduction often leaves this out.

Canvas art prints are usually completely flat or have small applications of hand-applied paint that is referred to as highlight. If the canvas art print is flat to the touch, then it’s probably a reproduction. Originals mostly include areas of texture.

Highlights can be obvious to see. A hightlight can be simply a small dab of paint, which is quite different from an artist’s actual brushstroke.

Other options include using a high-powered microscope to look for standard dot patterns and/or calling a gallery to see if they have someone who can identify your canvas art print as an original or a reproduction.

Getting Fashion Tips from Celebrity Fashion

By Clark Hunter

Celebrity fashion is something that we all pay attention to, whether we realize it or not. We all check out the magazines at the grocery store checkout and we all take notice of what is in the windows of our favorite clothing stores in the malls and what models and celebrities are wearing on television. Celebrity fashion paves the way for every day people to develop a style all their own, and even to stay on top of the trends. Unlike most of us, celebrities have fashion advisors that can tell them what is hot and what is not, and most of them listen! All we have to do is follow the cue of most celebrities and we can be just as trendy and as hip as they are.

Hair - Every year there are new hair styles that celebrities make popular. Jennifer Aniston is one of the most popular as we have all been mimicking her beautiful hair for the last fifteen years or so since she was better known as Rachel. In 2005 most of the hairstyles were straight and those that didn't have the straight locks got them by using sedu hair straighteners. The sedu hair straightener is a ceramic device that can straighten one's hair without damaging it. Jennifer Aniston, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Paris Hilton have sported these hairstyles. Though it would be easy to assume that all of these celebrities have beautiful hair that is straight, all of them wear these fashions with the help of the sedu style straightener.

Accessories - Accessories are another fashion cue that we often take from celebrities. For a long time personalized necklaces were the thing, but now simple is better. Simple diamond necklaces are really popular, as are the "o" pendants and three stone diamond pendants. Simple and elegant are the jewels that will be worn in the form of necklaces, but rings and bracelets are becoming more and chunkier when you look at what your favorite celebrities are wearing right now. Big bags and small bags, there don't seem to be much in between. Big bags and small bags are the extremes that are in right now and everyone seems to be doing the sequined purses and belts, which can dress up a pair of jeans or make a more formal outfit flashier. Leg warmers! Leg warmers are back, although not everyone can pull these 80s fashion accessories back, but you may just see some of your favorite celebrities sporting them in those candid shots that we all love so much!

Shoes - We get many of our cues for shoes from celebrity fashion plates as well. It doesn't seem to matter what season we are in; we are all flipping through magazines to see what the stars are wearing. Again, the stars have advisors to tell them what is hot, but we can simply buy a two or three dollar magazine and check in with our favorite stars. Casual definitely seems to be in right now with our favorite celebrities sporting fashions such as flip-flops for the spring and summer! Many celebrity fashion gurus say you needn't go any further than Payless to get some great shoes. Payless shoes was even mentioned as being a great place to buy shoes on a recent episode of America's Next Top Model.

Clothes - You'll typically find that celebrity fashion isn't unlike what you or I would wear on an every day basis. Jeans, t-shirts, they're all the rage. Bootleg jeans and capris are in again this year as well as low rise and super lose rise jeans, and you'll definitely see your favorite stars wearing them in the magazines. Tank tops and peasant tops will be in again, as well as lacy tops. If you're looking for something to wear to the beach, remember that the bikini is in! It's important to remember that you don't have to spend as much as the stars do to copy celebrity fashion. While they may be able to afford to spend $500 on a pair of jeans, you can spend much, much less and create the same look!

Celebrity fashion is always changing. From month to month and season to season what is in definitely changes. While celebrity fashion is interesting, it should be used only as a guide to help you develop your own sense of style. You'll see stars such as Demi Moore and Sharon Stone that always have their own celebrity fashion and they don't really care what other people think. You can look at what the stars are wearing and take what you like and leave what you don't. Either way, the magazines and television shows are a great guide for you to learn what is popular right now and what is not, what you do with it is up to you!

How To Buy Art Online

By David Waddleton

Just a few years ago it seemed people thought the idea of purchasing “clothing” through the internet was absurd. How would you know if it fits? What if it doesn’t fit? What if my credit card number gets stolen? Those were just a few of the many questions I personally had five or so years ago. Hopefully this article will help enlighten some of your inquiries.

The internet has significantly changed the art market. Significantly, meaning people now have choices at their fingertips. The sometimes intimidating and cold art galleries, is now an option. With many art websites offering money back guarantees, secure shopping and customer support, people do not have to feel as though purchasing anything off the site is Russian roulette.

Here are some hints and tips I feel might be useful:

Search and Search Some More: Without the hassles of walking/driving from one gallery to another and limiting gallery hours you have more time at your disposal to do your research. You will have the ability to view hundreds of artworks within the average time someone will be able to see a dozen by actually going to a gallery. For me that means a greater chance to find a new painting I will fall in love with.

Take your Time: Yes buying off the internet is far from perfect so follow your heart and take your time. Send the image to your friends, research the artist and take advantage of the many gallery website features available at your disposal, such as “view-to-scale, background colors, zoom, etc”. Ask questions if you want by emailing the website and also you can compare shop. Remember if you like one artwork and its too expensive for your taste or pocketbook there is surely another painting that is similar and can fit your budget.

Protect Yourself: Read up on the website. Find out how long its been in business. See if the website provides secure shopping and secured online purchases. Read about what the customers and any articles have to say about the website and its artists. Check if the artwork will come with an authentication that you feel comfortable with and find out if they have a return policy that you find reasonable. When you have done your homework, buy the artwork and enjoy your new artwork purchased through the future of art shopping with confidence.

How To Start Your Own Art Collection On A Budget

By Sintilia Miecevole

It is amazing how the art world seems to have taken a hold of general society. Many more individuals are inclined to forgo reprints and posters and start collecting their own unique art pieces for their homes and offices.

Are you interested in starting your own collection of original art? If you do not have thousands of dollars to spend on famous original artwork then you may wish to consider some other ideas and sources for your art pieces.

One avenue to consider, especially if you have not spent much time cultivating your tastes, is to rent art from a local gallery. You can have an original piece from local artists for a fraction of the cost of purchase. You can also trade in your selection for new pieces which may be refreshing in a business environment, or even a smart way to select art for personal enjoyment if you are not sure which pieces will suit you long term.

Another avenue is to go to local art schools or check your paper for shows by student artists. Here you can buy original pieces by up-and-coming artists for much less than established artists. It also allows you to invest in the growth of local talent, and possibly make an investment that will appreciate enormously in value should the artist truly excel in their field.

If you have an artist's community in your area - studios that are rented by local artists, you may also find that they hold open houses during the year. You may find artwork on sale as they promote themselves through this avenue. It also gives you a chance to speak with the artist and get a real history on the work you select.

Often art collectors are interested as much in the career of the artist as they are in their work. Finding an artist that moves you may cause you to consider collecting from a single artist rather than creating a diverse collection. Following the career of a new artist may give you a more valuable, as well as meaningful, collection down the road.

You may also finding interesting pieces in antique shops, markets and consignment stores. Always keep your eyes open for artwork that appeals to you and do not be too concerned with the value. Art is always subject to individual interpretation and only you can decide if a piece is worthy of your investment.

Do enjoy immersing yourself in your art collecting. Whether it is simply an occasional hobby or becomes an ongoing passion, art is an extension of our imagination that is one of the few truly human pursuits - it fills no need other than emotional - and yet has an impact that intrigues and fulfills us like no other.

Fashion: Bring Back the Basics

By Harriet Hodgson

Merchandisers use sales to get customers to come into their stores. I just went to a department store sale and was very disappointed. The free coffee and cookies were a nice touch (I didn't eat them), as were the couches next to the coffee. But I was there to buy clothes for a trip and stayed on task.

What did I find? I found rack after rack of dirndl skirts, t-shirts, blouses, and shoes decorated with sequins. Clothing with sequins is hard to launder, let alone iron. The wild colors didn't appeal to me, either. Clearly, I wasn't up to date on fashion trends.

I'm not the only woman who thinks the latest fashions are "over the top." Fashion designers are missing a marketing opportunity when they neglect middle-aged women and seniors. I urge all fashion designers, where ever you may be, to think of women like me.

THINK ABOUT LAUNDRY. Dry cleaning costs are going through the roof and, after I've had a garment cleaned three times, I've paid for it again. I'm not the only woman looking for washable clothes. Friends are refusing to buy clothes that have to be dry cleaned, with the exception of rayon, which can be washed in cold water.

THINK ABOUT COLOR. Lime green may be in these days, but if I wear this color I look like I need a blood transfusion. Orange doesn't look any better on me. Besides, who wants to look like walking fruit? Years ago, navy blue was my travel color choice, but this color has almost disappeared.

THINK ABOUT SCALE. Many women don't look good in clothes that are printed with huge flowers, animals, or repeat designs. Large prints like these are out of scale for our height and weight. Please think about pattern scale when you're designing clothes for women.

THINK ABOUT BASICS. I don't want a dirndl skirt that makes me look like an escapee from an ethnic dance troupe. Admittedly, my fashion choices are influenced by the fact that I live in the Midwest. Midwesterners are practical and, while we like to look fashionable, we buy clothes that last for several seasons. We also buy clothes we can layer in case the weather changes.

THINK ABOUT ACCESSORIES. Retailers like Chico's and Coldwater Creek have gotten the back to basics message. These stores carry travel knits in black, brown, blue and other colors, with accessories to match. It's one stop shopping. The coordinated skirts, tops, and slacks are ideal for travel and home.

When I ask designers to get back to basics am I asking too much? I don't think so. Basic designs will result in more customers. Basic designs are adaptable and you can dress them up or down. Dear designer, please get back to clothing basics!

Boxer Shorts

By Josh Riverside

Boxer shorts are underwear made usually for men. They were dubbed “boxer shorts” because they were patterned from those worn by professional boxers.

Boxer shorts first appeared in the 1930s, but they weren’t so popular since men back then were so accustomed to briefs. It was only two decades later those boxer shorts gained a following. It needed one Nick Kaman to wear them in a popular jeans-brand outdoor billboard advertisement in the 1980s. Even though up to now, boxers are still not as popular as briefs, there is a swelling preference for boxers today.

Boxer shorts have certain advantages compared to other underwear. The majority of surveys say that women prefer seeing boxer shorts on men. The opening in front of the boxer shorts allows convenience for men when nature calls. There are also more patterns, styles, and colors available on boxer shorts as compared to briefs. They can also be taken off more easily. Doctors also say that the cool temperature allowed by wearing boxer shorts permits the production of more sperm in men. Boxer shorts cover more area than briefs.

On the other hand, critics of boxer shortsim there are certain disadvantages to wearing shorts as compared to other types of underwear. They feel that boxers don’t have the snug fit that briefs offer when you wear them, and that the penis may be exposed when you wear them without another layer of clothing. The genitals are not supported and tend to move around a lot, creating much discomfort when playing sports. The waistband can likewise irritate the skin (but this may also be true with briefs). Even with another layer of clothing, an erection is obvious when you wear boxers. Wearing certain kinds of pants over boxer shorts looks awkward. And lastly, the loose-fitting kind can move in awkward positions.
